The nighttime drone attack on Mykolaiv damaged 8 buildings. The roof of a multi-storey building suffered the most, where drone fragments destroyed it by a third.

This was reported by Dmytro Bezdolnyi, Director of the Mykolaiv Housing and Communal Services Department, in a commentary to NikVesti.

The official says that out of the 8 buildings affected, only 7 suffered minor damage. About 20 windows were also damaged.

«In total, 8 houses were damaged. Fortunately, the damage is only one or two broken windows. About two dozen windows were damaged. Now the guys are working at the site, cleaning the area, removing overhanging structures that threaten people, and clearing the roof. The first step is to temporarily cover it with tarpaulins to prevent leaks. Then we carry out technical inspection and restoration. One third of the roof is completely destroyed. If we divide it up, one third is completely destroyed, the second third is partially damaged and the third third is basically intact,» said Dmytro Bezdolnyi.

Work is also underway to restore electricity and gas supply. Gas supply may take up to a week due to clogged ventilation ducts caused by the explosion.

«We are currently working to restore the electricity supply there in time to provide electricity. The situation with gas is more complicated. First, we need to get an inspection report on the ventilation ducts. There are problems with the entrance, where the roof was destroyed. The ventilation ducts were filled up by the explosion. So they need to be cleaned first, and then we will be able to supply gas. I think we will be able to resolve the issue within a week,» he added.

Utilities are working at the site of the attack: KP «Pilot» is issuing OSBs and sewing up windows, the city department of the State Emergency Service «Mars» is clearing the roof of debris, ELU and Mykolaiv Parks are cleaning the surrounding area. KHUMS is working to restore the external lighting.

«No one was home on the upper floors at the time. No one was injured. At night, when the fire was extinguished, the State Emergency Service examined everything and allowed the residents to return to their homes, said the director of the housing and communal services.
