Kormyshkin proposed to this convocation of the Mykolaiv Regional Council to recognize Russia as an aggressor and occupier: «It is surprising that there was no decision before this»

Yurii Kormyshkin, a deputy of the Mykolaiv Regional Council, proposed to the deputies to vote for recognizing Russia as an aggressor country.

This was discussed on Thursday, December 14, during the session of the Mykolaiv Regional Council, NikVesti writes.

During the meeting, the deputy expressed his surprise that despite the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation and the war lasting more than two years, the issue of recognizing Russia as an aggressor country was not voted on by the current convocations.

«I was sent by acting Anton Tabunshchyk, Chairman of the Mykolaiv Regional Council, the decision of the session of the last convocation regarding the vote on the recognition of Russia as an aggressor country. But it was a bit of a surprise to me that the acting deputies, after the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation and what they did in our country, did not vote for recognizing Russia as an aggressor country,» said Yurii Kormyshkin.

Yurii Kormyshkin stated that the decision is necessary to determine the position of the deputies and emphasized the importance of expressing a clear attitude to the actions of the Russian Federation in the context of the current actions on the territory of Ukraine.

«Let's ask questions and vote so that everyone has their own position and everyone sees that we are against the Russian Federation. The war has been going on for almost two years, and it is surprising why this decision has not been made until now,» summed up Yurii Kormyshkin.

Acting Anton Tabunshchyk, chairman of the Mykolaiv Regional Council, proposed to vote for this decision at the end of the session.

We will remind that in 2015, the Mykolaiv Regional Council by a majority of votes supported Resolution of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine No. 129-VIII of January 27, 2015 and recognized Russia as an aggressor country.

Also, on March 12, 2015, deputies of the Mykolaiv City Council voted for the relevant decision.
