Zelenskyy: I will be happy if Trump shows how to end the war in 24 hours

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he would like to hear from the US presidential candidate Donald Trump a plan to end the war in Ukraine in 24 hours. If this plan were real, the head of state would be happy because he knows the price Ukrainians pay every day.

The head of state said this in an interview with the German TV channel ARD.

The journalist recalled that Donald Trump said that if he won the election, he would be able to end the war in Ukraine in 24 hours, and Volodymyr Zelenskyy called him to Kyiv and said that he would explain to the American in 24 minutes that this was not the case.

The president was asked if he trusted Donald Trump «for at least 24 seconds».

«Well, I'll talk to him. And you know me, that I am a completely frank person and I will definitely be able to say this after the meeting. And I'll be honest with you, if his format or his formula leads to peace, and 24 hours is really enough for him, then I'll be a very happy president. Very happy,» Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized.

The head of state added that he did not talk about it with Trump. His last conversation with him was when Trump was president of the United States.

«I know how many people we lose in one day. I know how much it costs. So I will be happy if someone shows how to end the war in 24 hours. Who knows,» the president remarked.

We will remind that on the evening of January 15, the first Republican primaries (primaries) were held in the American state of Iowa, where party representatives chose their candidate for the presidential elections. Donald Trump won by the largest margin in history.

As you know, the current US President Joe Biden is behind former President Donald Trump in five out of six states key to the results of the vote a year before the election.

It is worth noting that Donald Trump previously said that if he is re-elected to the post of president, he will demand that Europe pay the United States for restoring the stockpile of weapons used to support Ukraine.
