The Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk, said that he does not know anyone who could say for sure how US President Donald Trump will act on the issue of Russia's war against Ukraine, as there have been «changing opinions» in recent months.

He stated this during a press conference in Warsaw, Ukrinform reports.

«We can definitely expect a dynamic presidency, and we should be ready for a change from President Joe Biden. What does this also mean for us in the key issue of security, i.e. in the matter of: Ukraine, Russia, war? Does this mean a change of front in Washington? I don't know anyone in the world today who would definitely answer this question. In recent months, we have heard changing opinions, changing proposals on various issues,» said Donald Tusk.

He also emphasized that Donald Trump is a «demanding partner», but he developed a «good relationship» during his presidency of the EU Council (2014-2019) during Trump's first term (2017-2021).

As Donald Tusk noted, Trump professes one principle in politics that he does not hide: he uses «a certain kind of unpredictability.»

“I've often heard, including in face-to-face conversations with Donald Trump, that this is a good way to catch someone off guard. Sometimes in this way he catches allies by surprise, sometimes — enemies,» emphasized the Prime Minister of Poland.

According to him, we can expect a «dynamic presidency» that will be different from the presidency of Joe Biden. At the same time, he assured that despite the «dynamics of events», Poland should determine and do what is in its interests.

Donald Tusk noted that he will meet with the newly elected US President «in the near future». Instead, Joe Biden will be the head of the White House for a few more weeks, and therefore the situation at the front and joint Polish-American interests «demand to be mature and serious.»

«I know what I have to do together with our American friends, and I will not allow myself any risks,» concluded the Polish Prime Minister.

Election of the 47th President of the USA

Voting in the presidential elections ended on November 6 in the USA — the last polling stations were closed in Alaska. Even before the official results were announced, Donald Trump declared himself the winner of the election. The Republican received 240 votes, while Democrat Kamala Harris received 213.

During the speech in Florida, Trump already made a number of statements. In particular, he assured that he plans to stop all wars in the world.

A number of country leaders have already congratulated Trump on his victory: French President Emmanuel Macron, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. For the first time, they commented on the results of the US elections in China, expressing hope for further peaceful and mutually beneficial relations.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy also congratulated US President Donald Trump on his victory in the elections. He noted that he hopes for the implementation of the «peace through strength» approach for a just end to the war in Ukraine.

Also, Vice President Kamala Harris called Donald Trump to congratulate him on his victory in the presidential elections.

But in Russia, they are in no hurry to congratulate Trump on his victory. The press secretary of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Dmytro Peskov, said that he did not know whether the leader of the new president would welcome them, because «the USA is an unfriendly country.»

We will remind that the candidate for the presidency of the United States, Donald Trump, officially won the election, having received 277 votes of the voters against the required 270.
