Men who are sick with human immunodeficiency virus or tuberculosis can be mobilized. However, experts must evaluate each case individually.

This was announced by the spokesman of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Dmytro Lazutkin, on the air of the telethon, writes Ukrainian Pravda. Life.

According to him, the main criterion for suitability for military service is a person's functionality, which is determined in accordance with normative legal acts.

«Each case is assessed separately depending on the state of health and the specifics of the disease,» says Dmytro Lazutkin.

The fitness for service of men who have HIV or tuberculosis is determined by how the disease affects their ability to perform military tasks.

Currently, people with an asymptomatic course of HIV infection or a stable disease can be recognized as fit for military service and combat missions. However, there are exceptions — people at the stage of immune subcompensation due to HIV are suitable for service only in the rear areas, where they do not need to perform combat tasks.

Men who have immune decompensation are unfit for military service and must be excluded from military registration.

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Defense also noted that there are clear criteria for people with tuberculosis and the Department of Health has prescribed them very carefully

«Active tuberculosis of at least the lungs with secretions of mycobacteria or the presence of decay of lung tissue automatically makes a person unfit for military service. Such persons are subject to exclusion from military registration, as the active form of tuberculosis does not allow them to perform military duties,» said Dmytro Lazutkin.

We will remind you that there is no discussion in the Verkhovna Rada regarding the next lowering of the age for mobilization, although questions about it are coming from partners. They explain that people younger than 25 will rebuild the country.
