The situation in Georgia
Mass protests have been going on in the country for a week due to the decision of the country's authorities to «suspend» negotiations on joining the EU.
It will be recalled that the Prime Minister of Georgia, Iraklii Kobakhidze, announced his refusal to start negotiations on joining the European Union until 2028, as well as any budget grants from the EU.
Ambassador of the EU to Georgia Pavel Herchynskyi expressed indignation at the statement of Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze that the issue of negotiations on joining the European Union will not be raised in the next four years.
The Georgian opposition is demanding re-elections of the parliament and has announced daily protests.
In turn, the USA suspended the strategic partnership with Georgia due to the refusal to join the EU and the violent crackdown on protests.
