«An attempt was made on me and my family»: the mayor of Bashtanka about the explosives that were thrown into his yard

The mayor of Bashtanka Oleksandr Berehovyi believes that an attempt was made on him, in which people with pro-Russian views were involved.

He wrote about this on his Facebook page.

The mayor said that the explosives were thrown on the territory of the house, when the whole family was at home.

«Yesterday, an attempt was made on me and my family in our yard. Unknown people detonated a grenade at the moment when we were all together at home. Fortunately, no one was hurt. I hope that the culprits will soon be found and brought to justice,» Oleksandr Berehovy wrote.

He calls those who support Russian aggression guilty of the incident.

«Everyone knows that we have only one enemy — Russia! After all, they are the only ones to blame for the fact that today parents bury their children. I'm not talking about things like electricity, gas, water, a roof over our heads and other things they try to take away from us. Therefore, we should have converted all our anger not against each other, but against our common enemy,» emphasized the mayor.

It will be recalled that around 10:30 p.m., unknown persons threw an explosive device in the yard of Bashtanka Mayor Oleksandr Berehovyi, which detonated. The mayor himself informed the police about this fact.

On the footage published by the Mykolaiv regional state police department, it can be seen that the mayor's car was damaged by the explosion.
