The Chairman of the Council of Judges of Ukraine, Bohdan Monych, stated that it is necessary to raise the salaries of court staff and judges of the first instance in the Mykolaiv region.

The official made such a proposal during a meeting in the Verkhovna Rada, where the issue of remuneration of judges and employees of the judicial system was discussed, writes NikVesti.

According to Bohdan Monich, compared to other civil servants, the salaries of court employees are low.

In addition, he emphasized the need to increase the judges' remuneration, which has been frozen since 2019.

In particular, he says that the first step may be the introduction of additional coefficients to the salaries of judges in the frontline regions, including the Mykolaiv region.

«The judge's remuneration has been «frozen» since 2019. At the same time, given the difficulty of financing the needs of the state in wartime conditions, the first step could be the introduction of additional coefficients to official salaries for judges who administer justice in front-line regions, such as Kharkiv, Donetsk, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Zaporizhzhia and other regions. which fall under this definition,» he emphasized.

During the meeting, the first vice-speaker Oleksandr Korniienko proposed to create a working group with the participation of the Verkhovna Rada, the Ministry of Finance and the Cabinet of Ministers in order to solve the problem of wages.

It is worth noting that, according to the declarations of Mykolaiv judges, for 2023, they received a salary from 1 million hryvnias to more than 2 million hryvnias.

So, for example, the head of the Central District Court, Halyna Podzihun, earned more than 1.6 million hryvnias in 2023.

And the head of the Commercial Court of the Mykolaiv region, Maryna Mavrodiieva, received 1.4 million hryvnias in income. She was paid an average of 118,000 hryvnias per month.

The head of the Mykolaiv Court of Appeal, Ihor Livinskyi, earned the most over the past year — 2.9 million hryvnias.

In 2023, the head of the Mykolaiv Court of Appeal, Ihor Livinskyi, earned 2.9 million hryvnias.
