Ukraine established diplomatic relations with one more country

In Switzerland, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with the leader of the Republic of Palau, Surangel Whipps, Jr. This meeting became the first contact at the highest level between our states and launched diplomatic relations.

In the presence of the leaders, Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba and Director of the Bureau of Internal Affairs of Palau, Eunice Akivo, signed the Joint Communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations between the states.

The head of the Ukrainian state thanked for supporting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine and invited Palau to join the implementation of the clause of the Peace Formula «Environmental security». Zelenskyy spoke about threats to the environment caused by the Russian occupation of the Zaporizhzhia NPP.

«It is very important that you found the opportunity to come to the Peace Summit. Thank you for your clear position. The issues discussed at the Summit are important not only for Europe, but also for the whole world,» he said.

We will remind that Albania will open an embassy in Kyiv.
