Ukraine is at the final stage of negotiations regarding the resumption of ferry services from Azerbaijan.

This was announced by the head of the Administration of Seaports of Ukraine (ASPU), Yurii Lytvyn, Interfax-Ukraine cites.

«Negotiations are at the final stage regarding the resumption of ferry transportation from Baku to Ukraine and transit through all the countries that the ships pass through. In the near future, we hope that the ferry crossing will be operational,» he said.

At the same time, Yurii Lytvyn emphasized that the operation of the ferry line will depend on the market — on the yield of agricultural crops, on the operation of the entire agriculture, on the nomenclature of goods for export-import and the functioning of the economy in general.

«For the ports, you can be calm. They will work 24/7. We have everything necessary for this. We hope that the money we jointly earn will be invested in the infrastructure of the ports, and it will be promptly restored,» the head of ASPU emphasized.

He specified that ASPU sets itself a priority task in the next two years to restore the infrastructure of the ports to at least the pre-war level, for which the organization needs 9-9.5 billion hryvnias.

We will remind you that Denmark is considering the possibility of helping Mykolaiv to create a temporary ferry crossing across the Southern Bug River in order to avoid the transit of trucks through the city itself.
