Mykolayiv City Council wants to build 54 shelters in kindergartens and schools in 3 years

It is planned to equip 54 shelters in preschool educational institutions, schools and lyceums of Mykolaiv over the next few years.

This is discussed in the «Program of economic and social development of Mykolaiv for 2024-2026», writes NikVesti.

According to the proposals of the main managers of budget funds, in 2024-2026, with the funds of the city budget, 26 educational institutions and 28 kindergartens plan to equip civil defense structures and the simplest shelters.

«The new construction of the simplest shelters in educational institutions will make it possible to implement the face-to-face teaching format and create conditions for the safe organization of the educational process,» the program states.

It is planned to build new protective shelters in the following kindergartens: No.22, No.65, No.126, No.12.

It is also planned to build protective shelters in:

• lyceum — named after Oleh Olzhych, No. 3, No. 42;
• gymnasiums — No. 14, No. 33, No. 35.

In addition, the Department of Education plans to build anti-radiation shelters in kindergartens and educational institutions.

PRU will be built in preschool educational institutions: No. 7, No. 12, No. 23, No. 37, No. 49, No. 78, No. 50, No. 51, No. 59, No. 64, No. 66, No. 71, No. 72, No. 74, No. 82, No. 83, No.84, No.87, No.93, No.94, No.106, No. 110, No. 115,  No. 121, No.125.

Also, public health centers will be built in educational institutions:

• gymnasiums — No. 43, No. 10, No. 12, No. 14, No. 16, No. 17, No. 18, No. 21, No. 26, No. 27, No. 33, No. 44, No. 61
• primary schools No. 1 and No. 2;
• Lyceum — No. 8 and Academy of Children's Creativity.

In addition to the new construction of shelters, it is also planned to reconstruct part of the basement premises for the placement of protective structures of civil protection in children's educational institutions  No. 77 and No. 103.

We would like to remind that educational institutions in Mykolaiv continue to set up shelters for schoolchildren for the period of the start of offline education. Journalists were shown the condition and readiness of two such shelters in Mykolaiv Lyceum and Gymnasium. Also, on October 25, the city authorities showed how two new shelters were equipped with donor funds in one of the lyceums of the Korabelnyi district of Mykolaiv.

In addition, they promise to repair 23 shelters in residential buildings in Mykolaiv by the end of the year. Currently, specialists are performing work in two facilities on Tsentralnyi Avenue.

As you know, the Mykolaiv region has become one of the six regions of Ukraine with the worst shelter conditions. According to Vitalii Kim, the largest percentage of abandoned warehouses is in the regional center.

We remind that in Mykolaiv, more than 70 million hryvnias were allocated from the city budget for the repair and equipping of shelters. However, the city budget of Mykolaiv will not receive funding from 102 million for the repair of protective structures in schools and kindergartens, which the Cabinet of Ministers has allocated for the Mykolaiv region.
