Mykolaiv capital construction department plans to make an inclusive shelter in Lyceum №3: the works are estimated at ₴35.8 million

Part of the basement is planned to be converted into a shelter in Mykolaiv Lyceum No. 3. The works are estimated at 35.8 million hryvnias.

The customer of the works is the Department of Capital Construction of the Mykolaiv City Council. The contractor will have to make a shelter in part of the basement of the Lyceum by January 31, 2025. According to the tender documentation, the works include general construction works, water supply and drainage, replacement of existing plumbing networks of the basement, heating and ventilation, electrical installation works, a lift for people with reduced mobility, arrangement of premises for people with special needs, as well as fire alarm and air alert.

Currently, the process of submitting tender offers from future auction participants is ongoing, the contractor will be chosen after September 25, 2024.

We will remind you that the government allocated about 5 billion hryvnias from the budget for shelter in schools in eight regions, including the Mykolaiv region.

From September 2, 26 schools in Mykolaiv, which have equipped shelters, will start working in full-time and mixed forms. Earlier, the city authorities planned to open 40 schools for full-time education.

At the same time, parents will independently choose the format of education for their children. More than half of Mykolaiv schoolchildren plan to study offline as early as September 2024 — that's more than 22,000 children. However, as of the end of June, an outflow of students was recorded in Mykolaiv. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, the student contingent has decreased by 13.8% to 6,380 people.
