The authorities are looking for a donor who will renovate Cascade Square for ₴15 million in Mykolaiv

In Mykolaiv, the authorities are planning to overhaul Cascade Square with donor funds. The cost of these works is estimated at 15 million hryvnias.

Relevant information is posted on the DREAM state system website, NikVesti writes.

The initiator of the project is the Mykolaiv City Council, and the square itself is on the balance sheet of the municipal enterprise Mykolaiv Parks.

Currently, specialists of the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture have already developed the concept of reconstruction and beautification of the square.

Five zones are planned to be built there: a parade alley, a square with a stage, a children's playground, a children's platform, as well as a recreation and sunbathing area. Among other things, install interactive lighting, a family recreation center with a shelter, an observation deck, video surveillance, ramps and a fountain.

«The main goal of the work is to create a comfortable and inclusive modern space, which would include several functions, in particular, the creation of zones for quiet and active recreation, the versatility of zones and the possibility of their use for seasonal celebrations. The concept envisages the development of the square at the expense of the adjacent territory on the side of the South Bug embankment, thanks to which a beautiful panorama of the river will open, an opportunity will appear for the creation of observation decks, interactive piers, as well as areas for active recreation,» Yevhen said earlier in the comments of NikVesti Poliakov.

Previously, residents of Mykolaiv complained that the state of the Cascade square, which was in a neglected state before the start of the full-scale war, had deteriorated even more.

The mayor of Mykolaiv Oleksandr Sienkevych wrote about plans to reconstruct the square as early as 2020. Then the mayor announced that the city had already developed a project of what the green zone would look like after the renewal.

At the same time, back in March 2016, the Department of Housing and Communal Services of the Mykolaiv City Council reported that for 35 million hryvnias, five public squares, including the square on Sukhyi Fontan, would be overhauled during the year. However, today the Cascade square is still in a neglected state.
