In Kharkiv, the construction of the first underground school in Ukraine was completed.
This was announced by the mayor of Kharkiv Ihor Terekhov.
He noted that the building was built according to the highest safety standards, has 20 classrooms and is designed to accommodate 900 students in two shifts.
Recruitment of students for the next academic year is almost complete. Already this year, 600 children will sit at the desks.
«We express our gratitude to our international partners, construction companies and educators for implementing this strategically important project for Kharkiv in the shortest possible time!» wrote Ihor Terekhov.
The mayor of Kharkiv added that they plan to continue the construction of similar schools in other areas of the city.
It was previously reported that the building of Mykolaiv Lyceum №60 in Varvarivka, which was destroyed by a rocket attack, is going to be rebuilt entirely with state funds — from the fund for liquidation of the consequences of armed aggression of the Russian Federation.
