As of October 2023, almost 15,000 internally displaced children were officially registered in the Mykolaiv region.
Iryna Ponomaryova, head of the Children's Service of the Mykolayiv OVA, told about this during the briefing of «NikVesti».
According to the service for children, it is difficult to monitor the statistics of the residence of IDP children in the region due to constant migration processes. Currently, there are 15,000 children registered in the Mykolaiv region.
— These statistics are kept by the Department of Social Protection. This is a difficult statistic, because any citizen has the opportunity to receive this status. There are constant migration processes. For example, people left the Kherson region, received status in Mykolaiv and moved on. 90% of those who received the status moved on. It is the Department of Social Protection that monitors their movements. Up to 15,000 children have this status in the region, but it is difficult to say exactly how many of them live here, — she said.
We remind you that after the beginning of the war between Russia and Ukraine, the level of domestic violence against children increased in the Mykolaiv region.
