Transplantation of the heart-lungs complex was performed for the first time in Ukraine

On the night of October 25, a team of Kyiv and Lviv doctors performed a heart-lungs transplant for the first time in Ukraine.

This was reported by the director of the Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Borys Todurov.

«The first transplantation of the heart-lungs complex in Ukraine has been done! The patient is stable. Thank you to everyone who took part in this difficult operation. Cooperation with our Lviv colleagues gives excellent results,» — he wrote.

Earlier in September in Cherkasy, a bone marrow transplant from one child to another was carried out for the first time.
