The French architect is looking for funds for the realization of the project of a square in Mykolaiv, created by him

French architect Martin Duplantier is looking for funds for the creation and implementation of the second stage of the project for the reconstruction of the square along Heroiv Ukrainy Avenue in Mykolaiv.

This was announced by the chief architect of Mykolaiv Yevhen Poliakov on the MART TV channel.

Explaining why this particular square was chosen for reconstruction, he explained that «it is necessary to change the usual locations on the territory of the districts».

— We didn't take Marten to any iconic places (Mykolaiv, — note), but actually showed what the city is made of, because for an architect, this is the most important thing. We have come to the point that we have global processes, but there are no processes at the micro-level, at the level of a block or neighborhood. That's why it happened that this particular area. It is no different from other small green areas in the city, but there is a need for their change, reconstruction and modernization. It is necessary to start with something, and this plot was chosen. This is a transit highway on the road of state importance in the direction of Kyiv, it is connected to our Victory Park and the recreation area that we are planning globally. We can say a lot, but the opinion is this: we need to change the usual locations on the territory of our districts, and this is one of such initial projects, which we did, — said Yevhen Poliakov.

The chief architect added that the sketch project, which was presented to the residents of Mykolaiv, is already ready. Next, he says, the working project will be developed with extrabudgetary funds.

— Now, within a month, Marten is looking for an opportunity to finance the development of the working project in order to proceed to implementation. He has this desire because he wants his work to be fully completed. When we talk about the completion of the design, we also talk about attracting funds for its construction. And here it is easier, because if there is such a story and the union of French architects is interested in it, then I think it will be much easier to collect extra-budgetary funds for this, — said Yevhen Poliakov.

Earlier it was reported that in Mykolaiv they plan to transform the square along Heroiv Ukrainy avenue in the Central district of the city, which is located near residential buildings №17 and №19.

Later, the French architect Martin Duplantier together with a team of architects presented the concept of reconstruction of «Ekaterininskyi Square» in the center of Mykolaiv. Specialists plan to arrange a space for family recreation — playgrounds, a skate park, an amphitheater, a dry fountain and places for growing vegetables, fruits or greens.
