Almost 500 more women gave birth in Mykolaiv maternity hospitals this year than last year

In Mykolaiv, the number of births increased by almost 500 in 11 months compared to the same period in 2022.

Liudmyla Chyniakova, head of the maternity and childhood health care department of the Mykolaiv City Council's health care department, told about this in the «Dialogue» program on the MART TV channel.

«According to the results of 11 months, we had 2005 births. If we compare with the same period last year, these births have increased by almost 500. This is a very good indicator. 2,019 children were born, also almost 500 more than last year. That is, people go back, childbirth takes place. More than 1,500 pregnant women are currently registered in consultations,» Liudmyla Chyniakova said.

At the same time, she noted that there are still internally displaced residents from Kherson and the regions of the region in the city, they also turn to Mykolaiv maternity hospitals. Liudmyla Chyniakova added that the number of births in the city has not reached the pre-war level and it will take time.

We remind that in the period from December 4 to 10, 108 children were born in medical institutions of the Mykolaiv region. 4 of them are twins.
