In the building of the Palace of Culture «Korabelnyi» in Mykolaiv, which survived the rocket attack, the work of educational and entertainment clubs for children and adults has been resumed.
The director of the institution Oleksiy Cheban told NikVesti about this.
According to the manager, after the impact on the building of one of the buildings, they endured more than a year before resuming their activities. Currently, 14 teams are working there.
«These are people of different ages: from 4 to 60 years old. In total, we counted about 250 people who visit PC. There is also a children's art school at our base. This building was not damaged due to the fact that there were two different foundations. After arriving, we waited a year, looked at how the building stood, and nothing happened. I walked around this building completely myself. There are no serious cracks there, only in some places the paint has come off,» Oleksii Cheban said.
Now the heating is turned off in the building, but the halls are insulated with heat guns, says the PC director.
«For today, we turned off the heating, because it is expensive and impractical to pay such large sums for heating. However, we have now reworked the electricity and bought heat guns, and we are heating with them. We have a problem that there are no double-glazed windows. Some were shattered,» he added.

The attack on the palace building took place on July 5, 2022. As a result of shelling by the Russian army, one of the PC parts was destroyed.
In March 2023, the head of the city council's culture department, Yurii Liubarov, announced that the city authorities were considering several options for restoring the Korabelnyi Palace of Culture. So, one of the ways that the authorities of Mykolaiv were considering is the demolition of the old building and the construction of a new palace of culture.
Later, the Ukrainian architect Olena Hordynska, in cooperation with the Italian bureau Altereco, presented one of the possible options for rebuilding the Korabelnyi Palace of Culture.
In her project, the architect suggested turning the destroyed PC into a cultural park «Korabel kultural park».
