Evacuation of civilians continues in Myrnograd, Donetsk region, but some parents are hiding their children. Law enforcement officers will go through houses to look for them.

Yuriy Tretyak, the acting head of the Myrnohrad city military administration, told Radio Svoboda about it.

«We have cases when parents hide their children. Today we will have a meeting with the police - how we will work with such people, how we will search for such parents who hide their children and give false information that the children left a long time ago. We will go door-to-door. We are doing it, but we will strengthen these actions, especially in those areas of the city that are hit daily,» said Yurii Tretiak.

He also called on people to evacuate Myrnohrad and the Myrnohrad community as soon as possible, because the situation will only get worse and «it won't get better.

Currently, the front line is located less than five kilometers from Myrnohrad. According to local authorities, approximately 16,000 people remain in the city.

Yuriy Tretyak hopes that this number will decrease to 10,000 by the end of this week.

«But I can't say that for sure. We cannot take people out by force,» he noted.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs added that people who will not have time to be taken out of the city can only live under constant shelling, possibly without water and electricity.
