Residents of the building damaged by Russian shelling at 2 Aliaudy Street have the right to refuse its dismantling, despite the decision of the executive committee and the conclusions of the technological survey.
Ihor Nabatov, Deputy Director of the Department of Housing and Communal Affairs of the Mykolaiv City Council, told about this in a comment to NikVesti.
It should be noted that on August 14, the executive committee of the Mykolaiv City Council added four more buildings to the list of buildings that need to be dismantled, in particular the apartment building at 2 Aliaudy. However, not all residents of the building support the idea of dismantling, despite the state of emergency.
Ihor Nabatov explained that the executive committee's decision to dismantle any building is not final, the final verdict depends on the residents of the building.
«According to Resolution 474 of the Cabinet of Ministers from 2022, the final decision belongs to the owners. Therefore, we have done everything related to the procedures performed by city services. Further, if people decide that they do not want to carry out dismantling, then no one will be able to do it,» said Ihor Nabatov.
In such cases, the city authorities prepare an official appeal to apartment owners, who must decide to dismantle the building or wait for its restoration. However, he warned that if the residents decide to preserve the building, there is no guarantee that there will be funds in the budget for its reconstruction.
«It cannot be said that the city authorities said no, and we put a cross on the building. But we, first of all, restore those houses that are in better condition,» said Ihor Nabatov.
