As of the beginning of September 2024, the Odesa region is 75% ready for the start of the heating season.
Oleh Kiper, the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, reported this in an interview with Ukrinform.
«As of now, our region is 75% ready. There is a lot of work on gas piston plants in the city to provide boiler houses. The first four installations should arrive in November-December, there should be nine of them in total. As for critical infrastructure, hospitals, schools, and kindergartens are fully equipped with generators. I understand that this is uncomfortable. But, at the same time, we need to be aware of who we are dealing with,» said Oleh Kiper.
He added that the regional government is also trying to involve international partners in heat supply issues.
«They must be brought here and shown where they arrived. Many of those who live abroad do not fully understand our problems. We are trying to show them what war is. We are negotiating with the Canadians, the French, and the Americans. When you are somewhere in America and just read the news — it is one thing, but when you are an influential congressman, came here, and then shared what you saw with the audience — emotions are different. Russia is used to living in such a way that it needs nothing but wars, and is trying to slow down our development. We have always developed and moved forward. Ukraine is a country of opportunities. Maybe that's why we suffer. The whole world should see this,» said Oleh Kiper.
Before that, Oleh Kiper told NikVesti at a conference in Berlin how Odesa is preparing for the heating season.
At the same time, as of August 2024, the readiness of the Kherson region for the start of the heating season was 53%, and as of the beginning of September 2024, the readiness of the Mykolaiv region was 78%.
What is known about the 2024/25 heating season in Mykolaiv?
We will remind, during the conference on the restoration of Ukraine in Berlin in June 2024, the mayor of Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Sienkevych, reported to the chairman of the board of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine Oleksii Chernyshov, how the city is preparing for the start of the heating season.
Oleksii Chernyshov himself, in a comment to NikVesti, promised to monitor that Mykolaiv CHP was ready for the heating season this year.
Later, Mykolaiv City Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych said that at the start of the heating season in 2024, Mykolaiv CHP will take into account all last year's mistakes.
Before that, it was reported that Mykolaiv would not have time to build a new heat network on Pohranychna Street before the start of the 2024-2025 heating season due to a lack of funds. Although the director of Mykolaiv thermal power plant Dmytro Myroshnychenko assured that the workers will have time to complete these repair works.
