According to a court decision, the elevators in a high-rise building were turned off in Mykolaiv: they should have been repaired four years ago

In Mykolaiv, two elevators in a high-rise building on General Almazov street (formerly General Karpenko), 59a, were disconnected due to an emergency condition.

Nataliia Boichenko complained in the Facebook group «Contact Center at the Mykolaiv City Council» that the elevators were turned off for an indefinite period.

She notes that there are many pensioners living in the building who are physically unable to go down the stairs. It is also difficult for parents with children to go down and up.

«The elevators were shut down indefinitely without an alternative solution. The shutdown was carried out by Lisky-M LLC. When the residents asked when the elevator would be put into operation, the employees of Lisky-M LLC said: «in 3 years, when the war ends,» Nataliia Boychenko adds.

In addition, without an elevator, people are forced to carry water, which they collect from purified water points, on foot to the ninth floor. Nataliia Boichenko adds that people cannot quickly go down to the basement during an emergency.

«My father is 92 years old, lives on the 9th floor, he still walks, he doesn't walk well, but still, he is in his right mind, he himself went down the elevator and slowly walked to the garage, 2 minutes from the house, but for him almost an hour. He is very independent, if you limit his movement, he will lie down, and in general, a 92-year-old man without an elevator on the 9th floor, how is that? And I also have a brother, a group 1 disabled person, and he also needs to go outside. There are many pensioners and young mothers in the house, they need to lower and raise strollers without an elevator. Pensioners were left to die of hunger and thirst, because they cannot go down and up to their apartments without an elevator, and food is in the store,» she writes.

The Lisky-M Limited Liability Company, which serves the building, informed the NikVesti correspondent that two elevators were actually turned off at General Almazov, 59a, but this was in compliance with the court's decision. As Nataliia Platonova, the senior foreman of Lisky-M, told, the elevators are in a state of emergency and need major repairs.

«The situation is such that there is a court decision. The service life of elevators is 25 years, after which a technical examination is carried out. It was held in 2020. According to these conclusions of the examination, repair work had to be carried out. These are already capital works — the restoration of the elevator to extend its service life. It is now 2024, no work has been done. These are capital works, they are not included in the rent, they are not included in the maintenance of the elevator. That's why the court decided to turn off the elevators,» she says.

According to her, the city has not yet allocated funds for repairs, and they do not know exactly when Liska-M will receive funding, as they must be allocated from the city budget.

«The appellate court made a decision. We delayed as much as we could, but the court's decision must be followed. The Department of Housing and Housing probably knows this (the amount to be spent on repairing the elevators, note),» Nataliia Platonova adds.

In June 2024, the Department of Housing and Communal Services of Mykolaiv told how many people were stuck in elevators due to a power outage, whether they plan to forcibly stop their work, and whether the mobilization affected the number of service workers servicing elevators in Mykolaiv.

Earlier, DHCS reported that almost 10% of multi-apartment buildings in Mykolaiv do not have heads of boards of condominiums.
