Nine foster families are registered in Mykolaiv region, with 24 children being raised.

Nataliya Menshova, the chief specialist of the guardianship and care sector of the Children's Service of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, informed about this during the briefing.

«Not long ago, there were only seven foster families in the region, and now there are nine of them. According to the latest data, there were 24 children in these families who could be sent to social and psychological rehabilitation centers. However, thanks to the patronage form of upbringing, these children ended up in a family environment. They do not feel such a big difference between the biological family and the foster family, because even the best rehabilitation centers cannot completely replace the family,» noted Nataliia Menshova.

We will remind that this year 31 orphans and children deprived of parental care were adopted in the Mykolaiv region.

Every year in the Mykolayiv region, there is a decrease in the number of orphans and children deprived of parental care. Today, there are 2,488 children deprived of parental care in the region.
