In 2025, Ukraine plans to significantly increase the production of its own weapons, including drones, long-range and ballistic missiles.

This was announced by the Minister of Defense Rustem Umierov at the DFNC2 forum, the press service of the Ministry of Defense reports.

«We have already invested 4 billion dollars in the development of Ukrainian industry, and next year we plan to increase funding. Our priority is the development of domestic drones and long-range weapons, including ballistic missiles,» he said.

Rustem Umierov also emphasized that the Ministry of Defense actively attracts foreign partners to create joint enterprises in the field of defense. An important part of this cooperation is the signing of long-term contracts for the production, supply and maintenance of weapons to provide the Ukrainian army for a long time.

In February 2024, it became known that the largest European ammunition manufacturer Rheinmetall will open a new plant in Ukraine.

In addition, another factory of the German company Quantum-Systems GmbH, which specializes in the production of drones, was opened in Ukraine. It is planned to produce 1,000 drones per year, as well as to produce spare parts.

It was also reported in July of this year that Ukraine can produce more than three million drones a year. For this, the state has sufficient production capacity and cooperation with international partners.
