31.1 million hryvnias were allocated from the state budget for free meals for elementary school students in schools of the Mykolaiv region. 42 territorial communities of the region should receive these funds in the form of a subvention.
The relevant decision was made by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine at a meeting on October 4, write NikVesti.
The weekly diet of students should consist of vegetables (daily with greens), fruits and berries (daily), juice (once a week), potatoes (once a week), bread (daily), fish (once a week), different types of meat (three times a week), eggs (once a week), milk and milk products (three times a week), butter (daily), dried fruit and berries or nuts (twice a week) and tea (once a week).
The Ministry of Education and Science reported last week that a total of 2 billion hryvnias will be subsidized from the state budget for free meals for primary school students in various regions of Ukraine.
How will it work?
The subsidy can be used both for the purchase of food and for the payment of catering and/or outsourcing services. The main conditions for providing a subvention:
- Hot meals are organized for all primary school students (grades 1-4).
- In the educational institution, the process of face-to-face learning is organized or face-to-face learning is combined with distance learning.
- Educational institutions can organize meals themselves through outsourcing or cooperate with catering companies.
- The calculation of the cost of hot meals for students of primary grades should not exceed the cost of meals for students of grades 5-11 (12).
- All processes must meet the requirements of Resolution No. 305 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated March 24, 2021, HACCP norms and legislation on food safety and quality.
We will remind you that on August 8, the Mykolaiv Department of Education announced the trend for meals in educational institutions of the city until the end of 2024.
Later, the Department of Education of the Mykolaiv City Council reduced the cost of feeding children in schools and kindergartens. Currently, the tender for the organization of meals in educational institutions of the city, worth 82.9 million hryvnias, has been canceled and a new one has been announced. On August 30, the management concluded a contract with the Communal Production Enterprise for catering.
