Filmed with a drone the area for landing an amphibious assault in Ochakiv: the court sent a Russian agent to prison for 7 years

The court sent a pensioner from Ochakiv to prison for 7 years, who turned out to be an agent of the Russian special services and was preparing sabotage.

This is stated in the verdict of the Ochakiv city district court of the Mykolaiv region, «Court Reporter» reports.

We will remind that the man was detained in April 2022. According to the version of the investigation, the Russian curators set the convict a task — to shoot with a drone the coast near Ochakov and the dam covering the mouth of the Berezan River. In the TSN story, Mykhailo Shadrin admitted that he was looking for a house to accommodate 20-30 saboteurs from the Russian Federation under the guise of refugees.

The man said that he was blackmailed: «In general, they made it clear that the daughter and granddaughter are in Russia, that everything is fine with them, but it may not be good.»

During the court session, the man pleaded not guilty and claimed that he invented the previous statements after «physical influence». The lawyer said that they filmed the video under pressure from operatives and an SSU investigator. But the court rejected these arguments. After filming the journalistic story, Mykhailo Shadrin met with his lawyer and could have reported the pressure from law enforcement officers, but he did not do so.

In 2014, Shadrin moved to Ukraine, to Lviv, where his parents lived, and obtained a permanent residence permit. In 2018, he moved to the village of Osetrivka, Mykolaiv Region, where his parents had a summer house. He worked in the city of Ochakiv at the Nova Post, and then as a security guard at the Zolotyi Vik store, and since 2019 he has been the head of the Prostor garden society.

The accused explained that he, as the head of the garden association, was approached by people on the Internet who wanted to buy summer plots. In November 2021, he allegedly purchased a quadcopter with his own funds to film summer cottages for sale and to inspect summer cottages to prevent theft. But after February 24, 2022, filming with a quadcopter stopped due to the start of the war.

In Telegram, Shadrin was subscribed to a number of pro-Russian channels. Also, the husband confirmed at the court hearing that he communicated with his daughter, who lives in the Russian Federation: he called her or wrote SMS messages. He said that he wrote about the possibility of blowing up the dam near Osetrivka, because the war had started. He did not deny that he called Ukrainians «banderivtsi» and «nazists» in SMS messages, but he does not know why he did so, while at the court hearing he emphasized that he loves Ukraine very much.

Sabotage is punishable by imprisonment for 10-15 years. But since we are talking about preparation for a crime, the punishment cannot exceed half of the maximum term provided by the sanction of the article. Mykhailo Shadrin was sentenced to 7 years in prison with confiscation of property.

We will remind that a resident of Kharkiv, who helped the Russian Federation during 2022, was sentenced to 15 years.
