In 2023, 9,000 outdoor sodium lamps were replaced with LED lighting in Mykolaiv.

NikVesti reports that this was discussed yesterday, October 23, at the meeting of the city council commission on housing and communal services.

Next year, Mykolaiv is planned to be made even more energy efficient, Deputy Director of Housing and Urban Development Ihor Nabatov said.

«We are currently performing lamp maintenance work. Next year there are plans to participate in grants to make our city even more energy efficient. As the practice of last year showed, the use of LED lamps allows you to save a significant amount of budget money. The economy is 34%,» said Ihor Nabatov.

If a non-working light bulb is detected, citizens are asked to contact the Mykolaiv City Hall contact center at +38 (0512) 751 588.

«Every evening we make a tour of the city. We may not see a non-working lamp, so we ask citizens to contact our call center if they find a faulty lamp,» said Ihor Nabatov.

Previously, Mykolaiv City Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych reported that funds for street lighting in Mykolaiv should be enough by the end of the year.

We will remind you that in Mykolaiv, in order to save electricity, it was planned to stop lighting the adjacent territories and buildings of executive bodies, as well as to reduce the lighting on the streets and in parks.

Also, during a press conference in May 2024, Mykolaiv City Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych shared plans for the complete replacement of lighting in the city with LED technology in order to minimize electricity consumption.
