On the basis of the Mykolaiv Clinical Hospital, a laboratory will be set up to support the transplantation of organs and other anatomical materials. For this purpose, the reconstruction of part of the food block of the institution is planned.
Such data are published in the DREAM digital system.
The total budget of the project is 24.1 million hryvnias. Its completion is scheduled for March 2025.
It is noted that the laboratory will conduct analyzes and store samples of tissues and other biological materials necessary for conducting transplant operations and research in the field of medical science.
In total, there are two first-level interregional laboratories in Ukraine. One is in Kyiv, the other in Lviv. The laboratory in Mykolaiv will be focused on the southern region of Ukraine.
«Transplantation is the type of treatment that gives seriously ill patients a chance to live. We have agreements with other medical institutions. In the event that a potential donor appears, we can carry out a transplant at our base,» said Dmytro Bachynskyi, the medical director of surgical care at the Mykolaiv Clinical Hospital.
As of October, contracts for the project have been concluded with subcontractors. The premises have already been prepared for the installation of new electrical, ventilation and air conditioning systems, water supply and sewage systems, and repair work has begun.
In the premises, separate work areas will be created and specialized equipment will be installed, necessary for conducting analyses, storage and processing of biological materials.
In addition, it is planned to build a modern anti-radiation shelter next to the building of the medical institution. Work on the project has already begun.
We will remind that in the two-story medical building of the «Mykolaiv Regional Clinical Hospital» they plan to overhaul the MRI room. They are ready to allocate 4 million 19 thousand hryvnias for the works.
It was also reported that a modern department of urology and general surgery has become operational in the Mykolaiv Regional Clinical Hospital.
