The first city where the 5G network will be tested will be Lviv, and if the equipment does not affect the work of the military, then the project will be scaled to Kyiv and Odesa.

This is reported by Economic Truth, referring to several interlocutors in the telecom market.

«It is too early to talk about the full launch of the network in the mentioned cities. Most likely, the deployment of the new technology will initially be carried out at a few base stations, and not cover the entire city,» the publication notes.

According to telecommunications expert Roman Khimich, the deployment of the network will start from individual locations, so users will have the opportunity to connect to the 5G network in test locations.

We will remind that, according to the Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov, the program will last two years and will take place in two stages. During testing, the National Commission for Electronic Communications and the Ukrainian State Radio Frequency Center will check whether 5G affects military networks.

Earlier, a test launch of the 5G network took place in Ukraine for the first time. It was organized by Vodafone and Nokia.
