Various programs covering both state and foreign grant opportunities are operating in Mykolaiv to support and develop business. These programs aim to help entrepreneurs with the opening and financing of their projects.
This was discussed during the conference «Economic Ukraine: equality in pay», which was held on November 5 in Mykolaiv, write NikVesti.
Director of the Mykolaiv Regional Employment Center, Dmytro Oboronko, told which business support programs are currently operating in the Mykolaiv Region. These are, in particular, micro-grants given to entrepreneurs to develop their business.
«Microgrants for business development in Mykolaiv have different categories: from 75 to 250 thousand hryvnias for basic projects and from 250 thousand to one million for larger projects. There is also a special program for combatants, which provides grants of up to 1 million hryvnias for starting and developing their own business. In addition, a new compensation program for creating jobs for people with disabilities was launched this year, with compensation from 80 to 120 thousand hryvnias,» said Dmytro Oboronko.
In order to receive a grant for your own business, you need to perform several steps:
- Make a business plan;
- Submit an application in the Diia application;
- Online protect business plan;
- Open an account in a bank convenient for you.
It should be noted that the Mykolaiv Regional Employment Center has provided grants for the opening and development of businesses in the total amount of about 40 million hryvnias since 2022.
Oleksandr Koroliov, the head of the Department of Economic Development and Regional Policy of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, shared information about the number of entrepreneurs who have already taken advantage of the program.
«Last year, 5 million hryvnias were allocated, and 28 entrepreneurs took advantage of this program. This year, the situation is more difficult, as budgets have decreased due to collected personal income tax and other factors. However, we also allocated 5 million hryvnias, and already in the first half of the year, all entrepreneurs received this support. If I am not mistaken, the second round will cover about 14-15 entrepreneurs and I am sure they will also benefit from this program. We hope that next year we will be able to continue supporting entrepreneurs with even more resources,» Oleksandr Koroliov said.
The topic of gender equality at workplaces was also raised during the conference.
«Today, the Ukrainian economy needs recovery, and for this it is important not only to support business initiatives, but also to create equal opportunities for everyone. The Ministry of Economy is actively working to support small and medium-sized businesses, in particular through grants and vouchers. At the same time, it is important to reduce the gender gap that still exists in the economic sphere, in particular due to the difference in wages between men and women,» said the First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko in a video address to the audience.
The moderator of the event, Tetiana Dombrovska, notes that in recent years, the wage gap between men and women has been reduced.
«On the one hand, the gap between the wages of men and women in Ukraine is shrinking. If in 2015 it was 26%, then in 2021 it will be 18%. A year ago, our country implemented a national strategy to overcome the gender pay gap. But these are still significant numbers. In addition, 15% of Ukrainian companies are owned by women, and only 17% of women hold managerial positions,» said Tetiana Dombrovska.
We will remind that residents of eight regions of Ukraine can receive a grant of up to 36 thousand hryvnias for the restoration or creation of their own bakeries, farms, apiaries or studios.
On Tuesday, October 29, the head of the Department of Economic Development and Regional Policy of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Koroliov, and the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Council, Anton Tabunshchyk, held an online meeting with entrepreneurs from the Mykolaiv Oblast within the framework of the «Government and Business Dialogue» platform.
