A minor was preparing sabotage on the railway in Voznesensk. The court sentenced him to a suspended sentence.

This is stated in the text of the decision of the Voznesensk City District Court dated November 20, NikVesti writes.

The investigation established that in May 2024, the teenager began to correspond with the representative of Russia via telegram. The latter, in particular, offered to perform tasks for which he would be paid. Graffiti on buildings and objects of state importance cost $200 and $600, respectively, $500 was offered for setting fire to a forest, and $1,000 for setting fire to a railroad relay box.

Arson of relay cabinets, signal installations and other means of managing the rolling stock of the railway, which has an important national economic and defense significance, is a weakening of the state, i.e. sabotage, the court points out.

The teenager agreed to cooperate and sent the card details to Oschadbank. He had to send video recordings to the customer as evidence of the work done.

The accused involved two more teenagers in the arson (one of them, the court notes, has not reached the age of criminal responsibility, note). On May 17, they arrived at the location of the relay box within Voznesensk, poured water on it and set it on fire. The teenager filmed it on his phone and sent it to the customer. For the work done on May 18, 1,000 dollars was sent to his card, of which the organizer transferred 18,000 hryvnias to his accomplice.

At the trial, the boy pleaded guilty. He was sentenced to 5 years in prison, but on the basis of Article 75 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, he was released from actually serving the sentence with a probationary period of 2 years.

We will remind you that earlier the Mykolaiv Court of Appeals left unchanged the verdict of a resident of Odesa, who was sentenced to life imprisonment in May 2023 for cooperation with Russian intelligence and preparation of sabotage.
