NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte is sure that if Ukraine is forced to sign a peace agreement on terms favorable to Russia, there is a serious threat to the United States from China, Iran and North Korea. He warned US President-elect Donald Trump about this.

Mark Rutte said this in an interview with the Financial Times. He also urged the newly elected president to remain in the Alliance and continue to support Ukraine

He also warned Donald Trump about the risks of Russia supplying missile technology to North Korea and cash to Iran. According to him, the money in Iran goes to support Hezbollah and Hamas, as well as to manage the conflict outside the region.

He also noted that Chinese leader Xi Jinping «may think of something else in the future if there is not a good deal (for Ukraine),» apparently hinting at the possible use of force against Taiwan by Beijing.

«We cannot allow a situation where the leader of North Korea, Kim Jong-un, and the Russian leader, Xi Jinping, and Iran rejoice because they have reached an agreement that does not suit Ukraine, because in the long term this will pose a serious security threat not only to Europe, but also for the USA,» Mark Rutte is confident.

In addition, he emphasized the need to strengthen Ukraine militarily before potential peace talks, so that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy would start them «from a position of strength.»

Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that representatives of the EU and NATO should participate in possible negotiations with the Russian Federation after the corresponding strengthening of Ukraine's positions.

Also, Ukraine refuses alternative formats of security guarantees that can be offered as an alternative to the country's membership in NATO.
