Since the beginning of the large-scale invasion of the de-occupied territories, 1,083 civilians have been blown up by Russian landmines. Of them, 333 died and 750 were injured.

This was reported by the Ministry of Defense.

Kharkiv, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions remain the most polluted freed territories.

It is also noted that units of the Ministry of Defense during 2024 managed to carry out a non-technical survey of 35 thousand km² of territory. These areas were marked as not containing evidence of risks.

«This made it possible to reduce the area of potentially contaminated areas from 174,000 to 139,000 km²,» the report said.

We would like to remind you that as of the end of November 2024, Mykolaiv Oblast remains one of the most mined territories of Ukraine.

It is noted that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of pyrotechnics, 26,955 units of explosive objects have been removed and destroyed in the region.

Also, with the help of manual, mechanized, canine demining, territories with a total area of more than 10,000 hectares were surveyed.

In addition, in 2024, the number of accidents with explosive objects in the Mykolayiv region halved compared to last year: in 2023, 64 were recorded, and for this year - 26.
