Preparations for the swimming season have started in Odesa region. Utilities and businesses have a month and a half to complete the necessary measures.

Oleksandr Kharlov, First Deputy Head of the Odesa Regional State Administration, told the «Yedyni Novyny» telethon on Monday, 17 March.

According to him, the relevant order was signed by the head of the region on 14 March. Active preparation of beach and swimming areas is currently underway.

«For the third day in a row, the process of preparing beach areas, swimming areas, the Black Sea coast for the inspection of the relevant groups of the State Emergency Service and utilities for safety components has been underway», the official said.

According to him, utilities and entrepreneurs have a month and a half to complete all the necessary measures. Once the preparatory work is completed, an order will be issued to open the beaches to holidaymakers.

As a reminder, Odesa has started restoring the inclusive beach at the 11th station of the Big Fountain. 19.5 million hryvnias was allocated from the city budget for its overhaul and re-equipment of infrastructure.
