Residents complain about a dangerous rope structure for children near Kashtanovyi Square in the centre of Mykolaiv. The facility was supposed to be transferred to the city's balance sheet in 2020, but only now has it been inspected.
The complaint was written by city resident Olena Hladka in an appeal to the City Council's Contact Centre.
According to her, the structure is in a state of disrepair: the ropes are torn, with sharp metal elements sticking out of them, which could pose a serious threat to children.
«If this structure cannot be repaired, then remove it completely before something bad happens. Children are our future,» the woman wrote.
The Rapid Response Service reported that the Central District administration had already assessed the facility and submitted the necessary documents to the Mykolaiv City Council's municipal property management department. They are to prepare an order to transfer the attraction to the balance sheet of one of the municipal enterprises.
It should be noted that the public space near Chestnut Square was renovated in 2020. New benches, decorative items and a pyramid-shaped rope attraction were installed there.
The city council noted at the time that the territory was leased but not used. Therefore, it was decided to improve it. The project was implemented with private funds from Invest Estate LLC and the Mafia restaurant chain. Approximately 700,000 hryvnias were spent on the implementation.
The city council also announced that the public space would be transferred to the city's balance sheet.
We would like to remind you that earlier, residents of Mykolaiv appealed to the city authorities with a request to repair playgrounds that were in a dangerous condition.
Parents also complained about the neglected playground in Yunist Park on Bohoiavlenskyi Avenue.
In addition, Mykolaiv residents complain about the neglected state of the square on 9th Pozdovzhnia Street and ask the authorities to respond.
