In 2025, parking inspectors issued fines totalling 7.1 million hryvnias for illegal parking in Mykolaiv, of which 946,800 hryvnias were for non-payment of paid parking.

Oleh Kuksa, deputy head of the transport department at Mykolaiv City Council, told NikVesti about this.

Meanwhile, 4.7 million hryvnias were paid into the city budget for parking violations. Of this amount, 189,000 hryvnias were fines for non-payment of parking fees at paid car parks.

«In 2025, paid parking came into operation on 11 June 2025. During this period, 13,409 fines were issued, of which 2,367 were for non-payment of paid parking. The total amount was 7.1 million hryvnias, of which 946,800 hryvnias were for non-payment of paid parking. The amount paid off for 2025 was 4.7 million hryvnias, of which 189,000 hryvnias were fines specifically for non-payment of paid parking fees,» said Oleh Kuksa.

In 2025, 1.1 million hryvnias were spent on the salaries of staff in the Road Safety and Parking Department (parking inspectors), which operates as part of the Transport Department of Mykolaiv City Council.

Furthermore, as previously reported, in 2025 the Mykolaiv budget received 74,000 hryvnias in paid parking revenue from the operator of paid parking spaces, the municipal enterprise Timeset. These are funds that Mykolaiv residents themselves transferred to the enterprise’s account in the form of hourly payments for parking in paid spaces.

In the event that no payment for parking was made, inspectors issue a fine (20 times the cost of parking), the payment of which goes directly to the city budget.

Previously, NikVesti reported on how paid parking areas would operate and who would oversee payments.
