In 2025, residents of Mykolaiv received medicines worth 90 million hryvnias free of charge — this amount was paid by the state under the «Affordable Medicines» programme.
Iryna Shamrai, Head of the Mykolaiv Health Department, spoke about this during a live broadcast on Facebook, NikVesti reports.
The «Affordable Medicines» programme allows people to receive medicines free of charge or with partial reimbursement of the cost. From 1 April 2026, 37 new medicines in various dosages were added to the list, including those for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases, diabetes and respiratory diseases.
«As of 1 April, a further 37 new medicines have been added, bringing the total number of medicines in the ‘Affordable Medicines’ programme to 748. Last year, our patients received medicines worth over 90 million hryvnias. All these costs were covered by the state. So please get in touch,» said Iryna Shamrai.

As a reminder, in the Mykolaiv region, only a small number of residents — 235 people— have so far taken advantage of the new state programme «Health Screening 40+», which launched on 1 January 2026.
