Mykolaiv plans to increase the fare on the city’s municipal buses to 20 hryvnias from 27 April.
The relevant draft decision has been published on the Mykolaiv City Council website, NikVesti reports. It is due to be considered by the executive committee at its next meeting, scheduled for 22 April.
According to the draft resolution, it is proposed that the transport operator — the municipal enterprise «Mykolaipastrans» — set a fare of 20 hryvnias for the carriage of one paying passenger and luggage.
The new fare could come into effect from 27 April 2026 if approved by the executive committee. This applies to buses operating in «route taxi» and «regular» modes.
The document states that the decision to revise the fare was made due to rising costs of fuel, materials and spare parts, as well as an increase in the minimum wage at the company.
The draft decision also provides that, for the duration of martial law, schoolchildren will be able to travel on municipal buses free of charge upon presentation of a student pass.
Once martial law ends, a 50% discount on fares is planned for pupils in years 1–11 (12) during the period from 1 September to 1 June.
It should be noted that in Mykolaiv, there are plans to increase the fare for trolleybuses: to 15 hryvnias for a paper ticket and 12 hryvnias for a ticket purchased using a QR code.
At the same time, fares on minibuses in the city may rise. The cost of journeys is set to increase to 20 hryvnias from 27 April.
