In Mykolaiv, flats in a building at 25/6 Levanevtsiv Street have been flooded. The photos were provided by residents of the buildingIn Mykolaiv, residents of the building at 25/6 Levanevtsiv Street reported that at least two flats had been flooded due to a leaking roof and a blocked drainpipe. People claim that following the incident, the management company refused to draw up a damage report.
Residents of the building contacted the editorial office of NikVesti, reporting that the flooding occurred during the night.
«At 2.30 am, we woke up and stepped into water. We saw that it was dripping near the door. We opened the door — everything was under water, and the meters were flashing with electricity. We woke the neighbours, ran down to the basement to switch off the circuit breakers, but there was a short circuit, so we called the emergency services and the fire brigade,» the residents said.
They note that water continued to flow into the flat until the evening of the following day. As a result, the walls, ceiling, floor and furniture were damaged.
The residents also claim that during the inspection, staff from the management company refused to record the damage.
«A technician from the housing maintenance company said: «It’s fine, it’ll dry out. What am I supposed to write in the report?» Then they simply refused to draw up a report,» they claim.
Residents also mention problems with the electricity supply following the flooding.
«Even with the meter switched off, the lights flicker. The power company told us to contact the housing and utilities department, but they just say, «What can we do?», say the residents.

Photo by “NikVesti” provided by residents of the buildingThey attribute the flooding to the condition of the roof and the drainage system. According to the residents, during an inspection of the roof, workers also confirmed the need for repairs.
«There were pigeons and their droppings on the roof; all of this got into the flats with the rain. And the workers themselves said that the roof needed repairing,» they note.
NikVesti contacted the management company «Bryz Pro» for comment. They reported that the flooding was caused by a blocked drainpipe following a recent storm.
«The drainpipe became blocked with debris after the storm: leaves, rags. Water began to accumulate and found cracks through which it seeped into the flats,» said the company’s deputy manager.
They added that the drainpipe had already been cleared and the electrical substation repaired.
The company reported that a detailed inspection of the roof is planned for next week — 18–19 May. After that, the scope of work and the cost of repairs will be determined.
«If it is within budget, and they (the building, — note) have funds set aside for routine repairs, then we will draw up a quote, agree it with the co-owners, purchase the materials and carry out the work. This may take a week or two,» said the company’s deputy manager, Oleksandr.
«Bryz Pro» also claim that they had not previously received any complaints from residents regarding a leaking roof.
The company also insists that residents had not previously complained about a leaking roof.
«To this day, we have not received a single report that there is a problem specifically with the roof,» said a company representative.
As a reminder, in Mykolaiv, residents of the building at 69 Kosmonavtiv Street are complaining about regular flooding of flats on the ground floor of the first block with sewage. According to them, the problem has been going on for years.
