Mykolaiv is preparing to take seven modular boiler houses near hospitals into service

Seven modular boiler houses, located near regional medical facilities, will be transferred to the balance sheet of ‘Mykolaivoblteploenergo’. The company will be responsible for their maintenance. A special commission has been set up to oversee the transfer.

The relevant decision was adopted by the city council’s executive committee on 10 April, NikVesti reports.

These are seven boiler houses, each with a capacity of 1,000 kW, located near medical facilities in the city. Specifically, three boiler houses are situated near the Mykolaiv Regional Clinical Hospital, and one each near the regional children’s hospital, the oncology centre, the blood transfusion station, and the children’s hospital on Kurortna Street.

The total book value of the equipment is 81.9 million hryvnias.

A special nine-member commission has been set up to transfer the property to the municipal community’s communal ownership; it will draw up all the necessary documents and handover certificates.

Earlier, Iryna Tkachenko, head of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration’s Health Department, explained that the International Organisation for Migration had transferred seven modular boiler units to the hospitals, which are intended to provide medical facilities with heat in the event of prolonged power cuts.

The decision to transfer the boilers was supported by members of the standing committee on social policy, health and the protection of veterans’ rights of the Mykolaiv Regional Council.

Also, in May 2026, it became known that the Government had allocated 3 billion hryvnias from the reserve fund for the installation of 216 modular boiler units in preparation for the heating season.

It should be noted that the state is allocating over 22 billion hryvnias in priority funding to prepare for the next heating season in Ukraine.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has allocated 12.85 billion hryvnias to prepare the regions for the upcoming heating season. A portion of these funds, 280.7 million hryvnias, will go to the Mykolaiv region.
