New route and roadworks: «Mykolaivpastrans» has reported on the results of its work

The municipal enterprise «Mykolaivpastrans» has reported on the results of its activities over the last four months. The enterprise has also launched a new route and modernised its vehicle fleet.

This was announced during a staff meeting, according to NikVesti.

The main infrastructure upgrade was the launch of the new bus route №49, which connects the Shyroka Balka neighbourhood with the «Mykolaiv-Vantazhnyi» station.

Four buses have been deployed on this route. Experts have also improved the route plan for Route №1, extending it along Aivazovskyi Street to the specialised seaport «Olvia».

In addition, the company’s fleet has grown thanks to the commissioning of ten new ISUZU buses, which had previously been out of service for over half a year.

«Today I would like to present to you a report on the work we have carried out at the «Mykolaivpastrans» municipal enterprise during my four months in charge. Specifically, comprehensive modernisation work has been carried out: new entrance gates, a barrier to control vehicle access, and a CCTV system have been installed,» said Dmytro Danilenko of the company.

Mykolaivpastrans also reported that, to optimise costs, it had set up its own repair and maintenance facilities. The company purchased tyre-fitting equipment for 340,000 hryvnias to carry out tyre replacement and repairs in-house, and also set up a car wash facility costing 78,500 hryvnias.

In addition, a lathe was refurbished at a cost of 10,000 hryvnias, which reduced the cost of such work by 77 per cent compared with services provided by external companies.

During the presentation, the director announced that, to service these sections and new routes, the company—which currently employs 191 staff—had recruited 21 drivers, four car wash operators, four cashiers, four building maintenance workers, a lathe operator and an electric and gas welder.

At the same time, the safety and digital infrastructure has been upgraded. New entrance gates, a barrier and a CCTV system have been installed on the depot premises, whilst eight portable toilets have been installed for the first time at the terminus stops of city routes.

Mandatory training sessions for drivers were introduced, involving the patrol police and Ukrtransbezpeka, and the company also developed its own system for testing knowledge of the Highway Code.

Dmytro Danilenko also emphasised that the company has launched an official website with an online transport monitoring function and has begun developing a mobile app for cashless fare payments.

It should be noted that a bus route to the Velyka Korenykha neighbourhood in Mykolaiv will not be introduced until at least the city has received all the Turkish buses it has purchased.
