The fire in the Andriivskyi forest tract on an area of 75 hectares caused damage to the environment in the amount of more than 200 million hryvnias.

This was reported by the State Inspectorate of the South-Western Region.

As you know, on August 10 and 11, 54 hectares of forest and 20 hectares of dry grass and reed burned in the Andriivskyi forest tract. The fire spread quickly due to gusty winds, destroying forest plantations, coniferous flooring, dry grass and reeds.

«State inspectors quickly calculated the amount of damage caused during unorganized emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere. The amount of damages amounts to almost 203 million hryvnias,» the report says.

In order to identify the persons involved in the fire, the inspection sent relevant information to the police.

On August 12, the fire in the Andriivskyi forest was extinguished, but almost 100 firefighters are on duty to prevent re-ignition.
