Belarus announced the increase in tension on the border and readiness to «defend themselves from Ukraine»

The Armed Forces of Belarus stated that the situation on the Ukrainian border is becoming tense. Allegedly, Ukraine is bringing equipment and weapons to the borders.

This was stated by the deputy commander of the special operations forces of Belarus, Colonel Vadym Lukashevich and the head of the anti-aircraft missile forces of the Air Force Command of the country Andriy Severynchyk.

«The situation on the Belarusian-Ukrainian border is characterized by increasing tensions. A coalition of Western countries unleashed a heated conflict near our territory. They are trying to drag our country into war. In these difficult conditions, our country is doing everything to preserve peace on Belarusian land,» said Vadym Lukashevych.

He stated that Ukraine is allegedly drawing troops, weapons and military equipment to the borders. In particular, according to the Belarusians, American infantry fighting vehicles, rocket launchers, heavy long-range artillery and other equipment are located in the Zhytomyr region. For this, Belarus withdrew additional forces and means of air defense to the areas near the Zhytomyr region.

«We are ready to resolutely use all available forces and means to protect the territory and population of the Republic of Belarus from possible provocations in the airspace,» Andrii Severynchyk emphasized.

Instead, the spokesman of the State Security Service, Colonel Andrii Demchenko, in a comment to «Ukrainian Pravda» said that any actions of the Defense Forces on the border with Belarus are aimed at protecting our state, and not at encroaching on foreign territories.

«They imagining that we collect a wide variety of units, all available weapons and equipment. Who and what they did not mention, and who did not make such statements. Probably, they themselves got confused in their testimony. This is again very reminiscent of the thesis about «where the attack was being prepared from.» Perhaps the maps have already been drawn. It is nice, of course, that they do not forget about our state, but let them not worry — Ukraine does not pose a threat to them, on the contrary, we are forced to defend ourselves, including and in the Belarusian direction, because Belarus continues to support terrorists, and at one time opened its border to Russian invaders. Ukraine defends and will defend its territories from enemy attacks,» said Andrii Demchenko.

We will remind, on June 29, the Council of the European Union extended to Belarus a number of sanctions that are already in effect against Russia.
