Two people from Odessa are suspected of transporting cocaine from the Netherlands to Ukraine under the guise of laundry detergent.
Its value was more than 2.3 million hryvnias, the Odesa Oblast police reported.
They say that Odessans are involved in international drug trafficking: a man bought a kilogram of drugs in the Netherlands, and his acquaintance joined as a courier. The woman took the package and delivered it to Ukraine in her own car. In order to pass customs control, she hid the goods in boxes made of washing powder.
They were informed of the suspicion under Part 3 of Article 305 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — drug smuggling. A man and a woman face imprisonment for 10 to 12 years with confiscation of property. The man is currently in custody, the woman is under 24-hour house arrest.
We will remind, law enforcement officers seized more than three kilograms of drugs from a 27-year-old resident of Mykolaiv.
