Even if certain damage to the generation is eliminated, Ukrainians will live with a shortage of electricity for the next two years.
This opinion was expressed by Oleksandr Kharchenko, director of the Energy Research Center, during a briefing, cites «EP».
He stated that there is a clear shortage of generating capacity in Ukraine. At the same time, high-voltage networks are in better condition.
«Unfortunately, it will not be possible to solve the generation problems quickly. Even if a certain part of the damage that was caused can be removed and restored in the near future, then, in general, my personal prediction is that we will live with a shortage of electricity for the next two years and this will be a normal state for the Ukrainian energy system,» said the expert.
We will remind you that on May 16, throughout the day, there is a significant shortage of electricity in the power system. The Ukrenergo dispatch center has submitted consumption limits for each region to Oblenergo. It is noted that today, May 16, from 00:00 in all regions of Ukraine, hourly shutdown schedules are in effect.
