IN 40.5 thousand vaccinations were carried out in Mykolaiv in the first half of 2024. Of the total, 43 adverse reactions were registered, which is 0.1% of all vaccinations.
This was announced by the head of the health care department of the Mykolaiv City Council, Iryna Shamrai, during a briefing on July 18, NikVesti reports.
According to her, in the conditions of a decrease in the number of births, special attention is paid to vaccination of the children's population to prevent outbreaks of infectious diseases.
According to the electronic database of registered patients, vaccinations include vaccinations against diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, poliomyelitis, tuberculosis, hepatitis and other infections required according to the vaccination calendar, as well as against chicken pox and other recommended infections.
43 adverse situations after immunization were registered in the city, which is 0.1% of all vaccinations. In particular:
• 1,555 vaccinations with the AKDP vaccine, of which 17 adverse events (1%);
• 2,495 vaccinations with the PDA vaccine, of which 2 adverse events (0.08%);
• 982 Pentavalent vaccinations, of which 10 adverse events (1%);

The head of the health care department, Iryna Shamrai, emphasized that all adverse events after immunization are registered in the electronic database by family doctors and transferred to the state expert center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
In Ukraine, only one adverse reaction to vaccination was detected in a child in Berezanskyi district in June. The baby had a high temperature.
«We reviewed the anamnesis for adverse events, in June, one adverse event was submitted regarding the immunization of a six-month-old child in the Berezanskyi district, which ended with a rise in temperature,» she said.
Iryna Shamrai noted that similar cases are subject to investigation, during which the vaccine may be temporarily moved to quarantine. This happened only once in the last 6 months.
It will be recalled that the Mykolaiv publication Novosti-N, referring to relatives, reported that a 6-month-old girl named Polina fell into a coma after being vaccinated at Children's Polyclinic №2.
However, neither the city health department nor the child's relatives provided confirmation of this.
In addition, the Mykolaiv Health Department called the news about a 6-month-old girl who fell into a coma after vaccination a manipulation. A child with such data was not admitted to intensive care units in Mykolaiv or Odesa hospitals.
Earlier, on July 15, the former director of the Mykolaiv Regional Infectious Disease Hospital, Svitlana Fedorova stated that medicines and vaccines are kept in the family outpatient clinic No. 5 in conditions of record heat in Mykolaiv.
In response to this, the administration of City Polyclinic №1 assured that vaccinating children during periods of extreme heat is absolutely safe, as vaccines are stored in special refrigerators or thermal containers.
