Prime Minister of Moldova Dorin Recan emphasized that the country will comply with international human rights legislation, commenting on the Ukrainian authorities' request for the return of men who escaped mobilization.
The Prime Minister was reminded of the words of the Ambassador of Ukraine to Moldova, Mark Shevchenko, that Kyiv conducts a «certain dialogue» with Chisinau regarding the return to Ukraine of men of draft age who fled abroad, writes Ukrinform.
«Ukraine has the following wishes for all countries where Ukrainians live. We, like everyone else, adhere to international rules and human rights. We will act in accordance with the laws that exist in international law,» Dorin Rechan said.
To a clarifying question, whether this means that Moldova will not extradite Ukrainian conscripts, the prime minister answered: «We will comply with international legislation in matters of human rights.»
As a reminder, since April 23, Ukrainian consulates abroad temporarily do not accept documents from Ukrainian citizens of military age.
