During high-altitude demining, police explosives officers neutralized the warhead of the Shahed drone, which was stuck in the propeller of a windmill in the Mykolaiv region.
The police of the Mykolaiv region informed about it.
The wreckage and combat part of the enemy drone, which posed a danger, were dismantled by the police from a height of 55 meters, which is equivalent to an 18-story building.
According to the experts of the explosives service of the police, as a result of hitting the drone, the detonation of the warhead did not take place, but remained inside the power generating substation, remaining dangerous for citizens.
Dismantling the Shahed was complicated by the fact that part of the drone was in a hard-to-reach place of the propeller of the windmill and at a height of 55 meters from the ground.
Police explosives officers planned the first priority actions, prepared the necessary explosive equipment and developed several plans to extract part of the unmanned aerial vehicle.
During the study of the windmill, the materials from which it is made, the policemen, using special equipment and a crane, climbed to a height and determined the location of the combat unit with a metal detector.
«In addition to the height, the difficulty was also that when Shahed hit the propeller of the windmill, it fell into pieces all over the plane, and the metal detector was triggered almost everywhere. We made holes and with the help of special equipment, after a thorough inspection, we removed the dangerous part of the drone so as not to damage it. Having already descended to the ground, they were destroyed by means of controlled detonation,» said Mykola Tserush, Deputy Chief of the Explosive Service of the Mykolaiv Oblast Police.
Earlier in the Mykolaiv region, police explosive devices neutralized combat units of Shahed and Kh-59 missiles.
