Since the beginning of 2024, Russia has launched almost a thousand missiles, about 2,800 attack drones, as well as almost 7,000 guided aerial bombs over Ukraine. Most of the occupiers' targets were civilian rather than military.
This was stated by the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN, Serhiy Kyslytsia, during a meeting of the UN Security Council, writes RBC-Ukraine.
«The total explosive power of combined air strikes on Ukraine during this period exceeds 9 kilotons. Only 3% of Russian missiles, drones and guided bombs hit military targets, while 97% hit civilian infrastructure,» he noted.
As Serhii Kyslytsia said, Russia deliberately targeted critical energy infrastructure, in particular, electricity production. After the March attacks, 80% of the thermal energy was destroyed. Hydroelectric power plants were also seriously damaged.
The representative of Ukraine at the UN reminded about the constant shelling of Kharkiv. According to him, the UN human rights monitoring mission in Ukraine confirmed that at least 604 civilians were killed or wounded in Ukraine last month, which is 20% more than in February. 57 Ukrainian children were among those injured and killed in March due to Russian attacks.
The latest shelling of Mykolaiv
We will remind you that the previous shelling of Mykolaiv took place on March 27. Around 2:30 p.m., Mykolaiv was hit by a rocket attack. The enemy used ballistics. As a result of the strike, probably by the «Iskander M» missile, there was a fire on the territory of the industrial infrastructure facility, which was quickly extinguished by firefighters. On March 25, Russian troops once again attacked the territory of Mykolaiv region. As a result of the impact of the enemy drone , the energy facility was hit.
Prior to this, the shelling of Mykolaiv took place in the afternoon of March 21 at around 2:25 p.m. Russian troops launched a missile attack on an object of industrial infrastructure. As a result of the impact, Olena Syvanych, the mother of the athlete, trampoline champion Svitlana Malkova, died, and 10 people were injured.
Four days before that, on March 17, Russian troops shelled Mykolaiv from installations located on the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimea. On Thursday afternoon, April 11, the Russian occupying forces launched a rocket attack on Mykolaiv. As a result of the impact, 4 people died on the spot, 5 more were injured. On Friday, April 12, a 37-year-old man died in the Mykolaiv hospital after being hit by a rocket in the city.
